WHEELIE WEEK AT HGI! Sept 2014
Dear Parents /
Guardians,
HGI’s Physical Education classes will have
students inline skating / skateboarding/ scootering/ long boarding or using
rip sticks (wave boards) during PE classes from Sept 23rd - 26th. Students are
asked to bring a helmet, a pair of socks, and either a pair of inline skates
that fit them, a scooter, a skateboard, or a rip stick to use during next week’s
classes. Please label all of your child’s equipment, as equipment will be
stored in the homerooms for the week unless students
decide to take them home each day. Students will also have the option to store
their equipment in their lockers during that week. Wrist guards and knee pads
are not required to be worn but their use is encouraged. If your child is a
beginner, they are encouraged to wear long pants, even jeans for class. A
sweater is also recommended as the end
of September can begin to get
chilly!
Students who have extra equipment that they don’t mind loaning to the school for the week, or even donating to the school program, are
asked to send that equipment along with their children to HGI on Tues Sept 23rd. Thank you in advance!
Classes will meet in the gym as always, we will then make our way outside to a pylon area on the asphalt in the school field to be active and enjoy the weather. Other outdoor activities such as Frisbee will be available for those students who are unable to find a piece of equipment to use—if siblings are at HGI they are also encouraged to share equipment if need be.
Contact Ms. Penner or Mr. Bridge if you have any questions [email protected] or [email protected]
Thanks for your support.
